Starpoint High School VFC Project

NAEA Convention in Seattle, WA
We are back from the NAEA Convention. To our delight, over 200 teachers showed interest in beginning a VFC project with their students. The ClayMan held a interactive demonstration where the teachers got to create a vessel (knee pot) of their own. Most of them donated their unfinished vessel to a school in the area to use in their own project. The following is an email from that school:
“My students and I are excited about the project and can
hardly wait to get started. Our art program is very small (only 2 classes), and
so many kids want to take the courses but cannot. This project would provide
them an opportunity to create something beautiful while helping to make the
world a little bit better. Barbara was such a great resource to talk to at the
NAEA convention, and all who were present with this project were delightful and
clear in their purpose. Thank you all so much for the donation of the left over
clay, and the remaining vessels to help jump start our project at Poulsbo Middle
School. I look forward to hearing from you, and getting things going with Vessels for Charity
Foundation. Thanks a million for the work you do”– kate
